Proyas [ প্রয়াস / प्रयास ] is a Sanskrit word, meaning endeavor.
Proyas’s journey started in 2016, with a shared dream, a vision and desire of few families to celebrate Durga Puja in a Sarbojonin way in South East England. We were driven by a strong feeling of wanting to be involved in experiencing this rich cultural heritage and passing it on to our next generation.
We endeavor to promote Indian Hindu culture via cultural events and festivals, engage the mass by doing fun filled activities, and serve the community via fundraising activities throughout the year. We aim to integrate the differences and celebrate diversity.
Proyas will continue to evolve with increasing members and their enthusiastic effort.
Any help is appreciated. There is a lot you can do to get engaged, e.g. helping out with organizing cultural events, social events, fun filled day outs/activities, participating in cultural performances or working back stage, fundraising, involving in publicity – there is always room for everyone’s talent, skills and interest.
